ABOUT US

Have you always wanted to research your family history but didn't know where to start?  Do you have a box of old family photos and don't know what to do with them?  Do you want to pass down your family heritage to your children and grandchildren?

The Festival Genealogy Club's mission is to provide an organized framework under which residents may engage in research and gain knowledge. Members have all levels of experience. Visit a club meeting as a guest or jump right in and join.

Joining requires filling out a membership application including the annual dues (check only, please). A link to the online form is on this page. Please complete the online New Member Survey to help us get to know your experience. Membership forms can also be found in the Chartered Clubs binder at the Members Services Desk in the Sage Center.

Examples of topics that we discuss:

  • Using the internet for research

  • Organizing your findings

  • DNA testing

  • Documenting your research

  • A member talks about an overseas trip to meet relatives

  • How to write family stories

  • Comparison of genealogy software
